AI Student Privacy Rules for Teachers
Student Privacy Comes First
Teachers may work with student names, grades, accommodations, family communication, behavior notes, health information, classroom records, and other sensitive details. AI workflows should protect student privacy and follow school or district policy.
Basic Student Privacy Rules
- Do not paste student names, grades, records, accommodations, health details, behavior notes, or family information into unapproved AI tools.
- Use approved school tools when student information is involved.
- Remove unnecessary identifiers when drafting generic examples, templates, or classroom materials.
- Follow school, district, legal, and parent/guardian communication rules.
- Review AI-assisted output before saving, sending, grading, or sharing it.
Use Minimum Necessary Information
AI should receive only the information needed for the task. Student trust depends on privacy, accuracy, fairness, accessibility, and teacher review.
