The best first AI workflow is repeated, useful, easy to review, and safe to test. Do not start with the most sensitive or complicated workplace task.
The Decision Flow
- Is the task repeated? If no, improve the task manually first.
- Does it slow down communication, meetings, documents, research, reporting, or admin work? If yes, it may be worth testing.
- Can AI draft, summarize, organize, or explain the work? Start there before automating actions.
- Does it include sensitive company, customer, employee, legal, financial, or private information? Use approved tools and add review rules.
- Will the output be shared with customers, leaders, employees, or outside partners? Require human review.
- Can you measure the improvement? Track time saved, clarity, fewer missed steps, or better follow-through.
